DT Ed Foundation

The Doniphan-Trumbull Education Foundation (DTEF) has awarded eight educator mini-grants totaling $5,343 to support innovative educational projects across the district.  These grants will fund diverse initiatives designed to enhance student learning experiences and provide educators with valuable resources.

"These mini-grants represent our commitment to supporting creative educational approaches that might otherwise go unfunded," said a D-T Education Foundation representative. "We're proud to invest in projects that directly impact student engagement and achievement."

Foundation board directors Steph Roach and Dr. Jeremy Braden personally presented the awards and took photographs with the grant recipients and their students during a special ceremony.  These grant awards highlighted the foundation's ongoing commitment to recognizing educational excellence and innovation within Doniphan-Trumbull.

Grant Recipients and Projects

The following projects received funding in this grant cycle:

Ms. Joy Utecht - Senior Omaha Trip - $620.00
Funding will support a valuable educational excursion for seniors, providing them with real-world learning experiences outside the classroom. The excursion will include seeing the Broadway play The Outsiders and visiting other Nebraska cultural sites.

Mr. Jordan Conner - DT Spring Leadership Class - $479.43
This grant will enhance the leadership development program, helping students build essential skills for future success.  Specifically, it was to provide students with a book study on leadership.

Ms. Cecilee Huelsnitz - Weighted Vests - $750.00
These specialized tools will assist students with sensory processing needs, helping them maintain focus and regulate emotions in the classroom environment.

Ms. Beth Hoffman & Ms. Rhiannon Dyer - 2nd Grade Novel Study Book Resources - $625.95
New reading materials will enrich literature studies, exposing students to diverse perspectives and enhancing comprehension skills.

Ms. Danielle Blake  - PE Equipment Updates - $714.00
This funding will replace worn equipment and introduce new physical education resources to promote active, healthy lifestyles.

Mr. Tanner Barth - Velocity Based Training - $750.00
This innovative athletic training approach will provide instant and reflective feedback for student progress.

Ms. Steph Corwin - 1st Grade STEM Bins - $750.00
These Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics resources will provide hands-on learning opportunities that foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Ms. Carrie Braden - 1st Grade Flexible Seating in the Classroom - $654.00
Alternative seating options will create a more accommodating learning environment that addresses different learning styles and physical needs.

Impact on Education

Each funded project addresses educational needs while supporting the district's commitment to providing every student with a safe and positive learning environment.. The grants enable educators to implement creative approaches that might otherwise remain just ideas due to budget limitations.
