Doniphan-Trumbull Education Foundation

The Doniphan-Trumbull Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3), non-profit public benefit corporation, organized exclusively for educational and charitable purposes.

The mission of our OUR Education Foundation is to identify and provide funding for educational opportunities beyond the scope of existing programs and resources in the Doniphan-Trumbull Public School.

The purpose of  OUR  Education Foundation is to support quality education in the Doniphan-Trumbull Public School through fundraising in the communities that make up our school district.

  • Student Scholarships

  • Creative Curriculum Projects

  • Professional Development

  • Enhancing Fine Arts and Technology

  • Joint School-Community Ventures

Many school foundations were founded for the purpose of providing scholarships to deserving high school graduates so they may proceed into higher education.  That is a beautiful and necessary pursuit that should be continued, but it does not have to be the extent of how an education foundation can be a partner in the building of a community.

Nationally, some communities have used the foundation to "push the envelope" on scholarships promising a scholarship to every student who graduates ready to attend college.  That can be an effective tool to attract residents looking for a home in your area.  But foundations can also be used to build community resources supporting early childhood education, before- and after-school care, technology access, or community recreation centers.  These are all areas State Aid doesn't fully recognize and budget lids don't easily accommodate them.

NOW ACCEPTING: DTEF Mini-Grant Applications

The DTEF is now accepting applications for their Educator Mini-Grant Program for the 2025 school year. More information is available below in a printable application or a fillable pdf link if your organization is interested in future years.

Classroom Mini-Grant Application

The Doniphan-Trumbull School Foundation is pleased to offer our Classroom Mini-Grant Application.  The D-T Education Foundation will consider up to three mini-grants to fund academic opportunities for students that are not available through the school district’s general budget.

A grant review committee made up of Foundation Board members will review the applications.  Criteria for applying & awarding DTEF Mini-Grants

  1. All applications are due March 27, 2026, at the District Office, to the attention of Dr. Braden & Doniphan-Trumbull Education Foundation, for consideration.  Grant awards will be announced by the end of April.

  2. Grants are awarded for projects and initiatives that are not supported by existing school budgets.  Applicants must demonstrate the impact on and the benefit to students within the academic class or activity of the class.

  3. Before applying for a grant, please be sure to confirm that your school building budget is neither able nor willing to fund your project or grant.  If they are, please go through those resources first.

  4. The application is a fillable PDF or can be handwritten.  Once you complete the application, please have your direct supervisor sign off on your application.

  5. To make the format as uniform as possible, we ask that you not include additional materials with your application.

  6. Grant awards will range from $200 - $750.  Grant requests may be fully funded, partially funded, or not funded at all

  7. Projects or initiatives must be completed by the end of the following year in which the grant was awarded.

  8. The DTEF board requests that grant recipients provide a summary of the project's results and outcomes.  One page written or video summary is great.  This will help the Board with future planning and fund distribution, and will provide donors with an update on how their contributions support Doniphan-Trumbull Public School.

  9. Grants will be considered for educational field trips, guest speakers, and classroom projects that require out-of-the-ordinary supplies, equipment, or educational hardware/software (for student use).

  10. Grants will not be considered for teacher stipends, t-shirts, and food (unless directly related to the project).

  11. Applications are considered complete and acceptable when all information is provided.
