district scorecard

Doniphan-Trumbull Public Schools shared its first-quarter District Scorecard update with the Board of Education at the October meeting. The scorecard tracks our annual goals under four Pillars of Progress: Student Achievement, Service, Safety, and People. Each goal is rated On Track, Making Progress, or Well Behind. The scorecard is shared publicly in October, January, April, and June.

STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT

Reading, Math & MTSS

  • Fall screening results: 60% of students in grades 1–12 met the reading benchmark and 65% met the math benchmark. Allowing for the usual summer slide, students began the year at a level similar to last spring. Our goal is 80% by spring 2027.

  • We've identified the students who did not make a year's growth and are not yet proficient. Our focus is helping those students grow, so we meet our annual goals.

  • Attendance: Ms. Goracke and her leadership team have begun interventions and check-ins for students who are chronically absent or nearing that trend. Our goal is to keep chronic absenteeism at or below 15%. Last year's rate was 10.9%.

  • Staff will complete the annual MTSS survey this year, and we'll connect what we learn to our ongoing MTSS work.

English Language Arts

  • PK–6: 73.5% of students met the fall benchmark, up slightly from last year and progressing toward our 80% goal.

  • 7–12: 62% met proficiency this fall, a slight dip from 64% last spring. We're looking closely at this fall's data and making structured efforts to help these students grow.

  • Students at risk: Each building has identified students in every grade who are not yet proficient and did not make a year's growth, and is drafting plans to support them.

Teaching & Learning (D-T Instructional Model)

  • Universal Design for Learning (lesson design that supports every learner) is on track. 63.4% of teachers are at the Novice level or higher, ahead of our 50% goal.

  • Our first round of classroom walkthroughs is underway for explicit modeling and student engagement (Elements 7 and 11).

SERVICE

We met all three Service goals last year, including a family survey average of 4.10 and a 4.33 rating for how informed families felt about their child's progress. We'll keep building on that work and improving the ways we communicate with families.

SAFETY

We met our Safety goals last year and are continuing that work. This year we are on track in two of four goals and making progress on the other two. All required drills so far have been completed on schedule.

PEOPLE

Each of our People goals is progressing toward its target, including role-specific Cardinal Standard conversations with staff and completion of required staff training.
