american flag made with students

Students and staff gathered on the school grounds to create a massive human American flag, donning matching red, white, and blue t-shirts in a heartfelt tribute to September 11.

The event served as a meaningful opportunity to honor the lives lost on 9/11, remember the heroes who responded, and reflect on how that historic day brought the nation together. Creating the image highlighted the strength, unity, and shared spirit of the Doniphan-Trumbull community.

This special tribute was made possible through the generous support of local donors and volunteers who contributed their time, equipment, and resources:

  • Anonymous Donor: Generously contributed over $3,500 to cover the full cost of the student t-shirts.

  • Relentless Merchandise: Custom-designed the t-shirts and waived all design fees to support student and staff initiatives.

  • Toby Yost: Outlined and flagged the area on the field to ensure the flag formation was perfectly straight and precise.

  • MRL Crane Service & Caleb Lilienthal: Donated a truck lift and operator time to provide the high-angle perspective needed for the shot.

  • Randy Sadd & The Doniphan Herald: Captured the final photograph from high above the field.

Community support like this leaves a lasting impact on our school and reminds us of the power of standing together. Doniphan-Trumbull extends its deepest gratitude to everyone who helped bring this tribute to life!
