The April 2026 edition of the DT Cardinals Newsletter is now available! This month is packed with exciting news from across our district. Here are a few highlights:
Elementary: 6th graders performed the first-ever 6th-grade musical, spring NSCAS testing is underway, and the district is exploring The Leader in Me leadership program. Mrs. Stratton was named March Teacher of the Month!
Preschool: Our PreK crew logged over 3,000 minutes of reading in the Read Bowl, visited Lazy K Arena for their animal unit, and practiced mindfulness through yoga and nature activities.
Special Education: Transition students visited Central Community College, explored public transportation skills, and the Cardinal Warehouse completed over 130 Post Prom shirts and 100+ car coasters for Grand Island Regional Hospital.
Secondary: DT is launching a new Drone Pilot Certification course, adding archery to PE, and expanding elective and work release opportunities. Mr. Kerr was named a National Constitution Center Civic Virtue Fellow!
Activities: Rylen Soundy became DT's first-ever FBLA State Champion. Track is shattering school records. Boys Golf won their home invite. Coach Hatt was named Nebraska Coach of the Year by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. And don't miss Matilda the Musical — April 24, 25 & 26!
