The third annual Glow Run fundraiser will be held on October 31, 2025. The Glow Run is an all-day activity where elementary students run around the gym, which has been blacked out and decorated with glow sticks. The staff plays fun music, and the students have a fun time getting out some energy with their friends while raising money to support the school. This annual event is a favorite among students and staff.

“I’m really excited to run around with my friends and have a lot of fun!” said 6th grader Hadleigh Deets.

While the event is all fun and physical exercise for the students, it also serves the important role of raising funds for the school.

First-grade teacher Mrs. Carrie Braden, this year’s event coordinator, says, “They raise money to help update/improve our playground and provide the well-loved family nights like Pizza Bingo and the carnival.”

In years past, they’ve raised money to put in a new Ga-Ga ball pit. This year, they plan to focus on raising money to support teachers in purchasing classroom materials and resources. Last year, students raised over $18,000, and they hope to reach that goal again this year.

“It is a BLAST!! We have black lights and rope lights that help the gym glow!  Our wonderful custodians and maintenance staff help us by covering up the skylights, so it gets pretty dark in there!” Braden said.

It takes a lot to set up the gym, but students agree that it’s worth it. To make the event even more special, event coordinators work to get multiple sponsors to provide each student with a glow run-themed white T-shirt and glow sticks they wear during the event.

Ms. Danielle Blake, the elementary PE teacher and the “cheerleader” of the event, said, “I love the excitement it brings to P.E. class. Instead of the usual routine, kids get to run under black lights and neon colors. With it landing on Halloween this year, the atmosphere will be even more electric.”
