DT gets new Superintendent

The Cardinals welcome new superintendent, Iowa native, Mr. Jeremy Braden. Last year when former Superintendent Mr. Stan Hendricks decided to retire after 41 years in education, and a search committee began trying to fill the void that would be left by Hendricks. After an exhaustive search, Iowa native Mr. Jeremy Braden was offered and accepted the position, moving his family of 5 (soon to be 6) to Doniphan.
“I chose Doniphan-Trumbull primarily because of the tradition of excellence in education, ideal location and small town values,” said Braden.
Braden has been in education for 19 years, 7 as a teacher and 12 as an administrator. He earned his bachelor's degree from Iowa State University and Master's Degree (K-12 Principal and Special Education Supervisor license) from the University of South Dakota. He is currently working towards his doctorate from Drake University in Des Moines, IA.
Braden says he is excited to be at DT and has big plans for the district, and hopes to “create opportunities for students to be prepared for a lifetime of PERSONAL success. This includes learning opportunities from birth to 21; whatever students need to learn, grow and become part of the Cardinal Way. A key component of this will be amplifying student voice, and ensuring we are meeting the needs of our students across the board in fiscally responsible ways,” said Braden.
Education is more than just a job for Braden, he has had lifelong passions for education.
Braden said, “I love my job, I don't necessarily consider it a job, as much as it is serving our community. Jobs are something you do for the pay, this is something I feel called to do, to use my abilities for something bigger than myself.”
