Outdoor Classroom: The Peaceful Playground Committee is working on its third phase of development of play and learning. The goal of this committee is to create an outdoor classroom that will be accessible for all Doniphan-Trumbull students. The land has been purchased but is not developed for student exploration at this time. The committee will depend on contributions, grants and the school board to make this dream come true. Two families have already contributed money to the D-T Foundation and earmarked their dollars for the Playground. The preliminary sign up for Driver's Education ended February 5th. This was helpful in getting a rough number of students interested in the course. The Nebraska Safety Center provides four phases of instruction to students learning to drive. The first phase is the classroom. Red Boxes are now present in every classroom at Doniphan-Trumbull. The district is making an attempt to reduce commercial dumpster costs and become a green friendly school. The district will also be flattening all of our cardboard and then use one of our three large dumpsters to recycle the cardboard collected. Once a week the secondary students in each MAP class take turns collecting and depositing the recycling red containers in their appropriate spots.
