Who runs the Doniphan-Trumbull School Foundation?
The D-TSF Board of Directors governs the Foundation. The Board is an independent, volunteer body with the powers and duties to provide fiscal guidance and governance for the foundation. The D-TSF makes all decisions regarding fund raising and allocation of funds.
The board represents a cross-section of the community. It includes two school board members, parents, professionals, business owners and other community members.
Current Board Members Are:
President - Mr. John Amick
Board Member - Mrs. Vickie White
Board Member - Mrs. Laurie Lueck
Board Member - Mrs. Denise Wiese
Non-Voting Member - Superintendent Kirk Russell
What is the relationship of D-TSF to Doniphan-Trumbull Public School District?
The D-TSF governance and decision making are entirely separate from those of the District. The D-TSF works closely, however, with District leadership to obtain information about District needs as identified by the Board of Education and Administration.
Why should I donate?
The Doniphan-Trumbull School Foundation does not control or direct any school funding decisions. Instead, it represents a means by which concerned parents and community members can make a real difference in the quality of education for Doniphan-Trumbull students - by making private contributions that directly fund programs in Doniphan-Trumbull district. Regardless of the decisions made by state legislators and state voters, regardless of the decisions made by school boards and administrations, contributions to the Doniphan-Trumbull School Foundation make a difference.
Who decides where the money goes?
The D-TSF board decides on the allocation of funds raised during the calendar year. The D-TSF board has a committee that considers funds available and currently is using interest off of Foundation Accounts to award scholarships in May to graduating seniors.
How does public education benefit the Doniphan-Trumbull School District Communities?
The most telling characteristic of any community is how it treats its children. The Doniphan and Trumbull school districts education began in late 1800's. The Doniphan-Trumbull School District was formed in 2000. Doniphan-Trumbull school district patrons began to work together and pay together to assist all of their children in becoming educated citizens. Those same values are present in our community today and are a major reason that our community attracts families seeking a great place to raise their children. Doniphan-Trumbull School District residents have demonstrated for over a 100 years that our kids are priceless and they are the cornerstones of our community's future.
